Yuko writes short stories, poetry, and essays. Having lived on three continents, she never feels fully an insider anywhere. As a result, her writing emerges from her day-to-day observations as an outsider. She is intrigued by the idea of multiplicity, the possibility of many worlds overlapping in one time and place. Her work struggles to capture that possibility, and to grasp the notion of home.
Yuko is also the inspired writer who came up with the name Free Inkers.
